Amy Armstrong has joined the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as its new associate vice president for alumni engagement and chief executive officer of the UL Lafayette Alumni Association.
Armstrong will provide leadership in setting the strategic vision for alumni engagement while providing impactful programming and services for the University’s more than 100,000 alumni. She also serves as the liaison between the University administration and Alumni Association.
“We are very excited to have Amy join the UL Lafayette family. Her experience and leadership are a welcome addition to the team,” said John Blohm, vice president for Advancement and chief operating officer of the UL Lafayette Foundation. “The alumni experience is critical to universities, and with Amy’s leadership, we look forward to building a program that will strengthen and build lifelong relationships with our graduates.”
Armstrong brings extensive experience to the role, having most recently served as the associate vice president for Baylor University Alumni. In her role, she aligned Baylor’s alumni network with annual giving to create a comprehensive program addressing alumni engagement and philanthropy. She also re-established the group’s Alumni Board of Advocates and successfully rebranded alumni programming.

Their ties to the University are strong, and their love for this institution is inspiring. I look forward to working with them, the Alumni Association and the Alumni staff to engage our alumni in new and innovative ways.”
Armstrong previously served as the executive director of Philanthropic Operations for the Baylor College of Medicine. She was also the assistant vice president for alumni relations and development at Trinity University and the senior director of operations and senior director of strategic planning and performance enhancement in the Division of Advancement at the University of North Texas in Denton.

I don’t think we could have found anyone else whose skill set and experiences meshed so perfectly with our needs.”
Armstrong received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas Tech University and an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of North Texas.
