Of the 241,973 citizens living in Lafayette Parish in 2019, 184,470 were old enough to vote as of Jan. 28, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 95,694 of those people were female and 88,776 were male.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
