U.S. Representative Clay Higgins, who represents Louisiana’s 3rd district in Congress, has recently addressed questions from the media regarding several high-profile political issues through a series of posts on his social media account.
On September 3, 2025, Higgins commented on the failure of a resolution he introduced to remove a federally indicted Democrat from the Homeland Security Committee. He stated: “Media is asking me why the Republican Conference failed to pass my Resolution to remove a federally indicted Democrat from the Homeland Security Committee. I’m telling them to talk with these guys. They’re the Republicans who failed to stand with federal law enforcement: Rep. Don”.
The following day, Higgins responded to inquiries about his support for Secretary Kennedy’s actions at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). On September 4, 2025, he posted: “Media: ‘Congressman Higgins, why are you so supportive of Secretary Kennedy’s actions at CDC?’ Me: ‘CDC needed to be scourged. If I have to explain that, you wouldn’t understand.'”
Later that same day, Higgins expressed disapproval over how Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was treated by members of the U.S. Senate. In his post dated September 4, 2025, he wrote: “I find it appalling, the way RFK Jr has been treated by our Senators. The ivory tower career politicians are out of touch with America and their arrogance is disgusting. Bottom line is that they’re shilling for big pharma and our children are being generationally injured.”
Higgins has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after replacing Charles Boustany and previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in New Orleans in 1961 and currently residing in Lafayette, Higgins has maintained an active presence on national policy debates while representing Louisiana’s 3rd district.
