Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) has announced his full support for Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer’s ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The investigation, led by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, has already taken several steps to gather information.
The committee has requested all U.S. Department of Justice documents related to Epstein and Maxwell with a binding subpoena, as well as all documents from the Epstein estate through a legal subpoena. Eleven deposition subpoenas have been issued for testimony, and bank records have been requested from the U.S. Department of Treasury. The committee has received and made public about 34,000 pages from the Department of Justice, with more expected. One deposition has been taken so far, and over 33,000 pages of records provided by the Department of Justice have been released.
Congressman Higgins stated: “Chairman Comer’s full-scale investigation into the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell is the best option before us to reveal the horrors of the most notorious child predator of our time. This is a crucial investigative mission, and I’m confident that with the support of the White House and full legislative authority, the truth will be disclosed to We the People. I will be a lead investigator in the Oversight Committee’s investigation, and the American people know that I will not hold back.”
Higgins is a senior Republican member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. As Chairman of its Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement, he helped guide efforts to issue subpoenas related to Epstein’s case—including one directed at obtaining files involving high-ranking officials such as Former President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton, as well as communications between the Biden Administration and DOJ regarding Jeffrey Epstein.
