Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Public Works Department is excited to announce a Lunch and Learn event, “How to Get Your Permit Approved Faster: Meeting Development & Stormwater Management Requirements in Lafayette Parish,” where members of the public can meet with developers, engineers, and landscape architects to review the process of obtaining a permit. 

The purpose of this Lunch and Learn is to provide valuable information to the community about when a permit is needed and what information is required to obtain one. This event will also highlight development requirements and regulatory changes to expedite the permit approval process. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the permit process. 

Topics Include:

  • Drainage and development regulations specific to Lafayette Parish
  • Parking lot landscaping, stormwater documents, and solid waste requirements
  • Land disturbance permits
  • FEMA enforcement updates
  • Informational resources to aid developers

“We are committed to making the permit approval process as efficient and transparent as possible for our community,” said Public Works Regulatory Compliance-Supervisor Jackie Vargas-Beitia.

“We understand that obtaining a permit can be a daunting task, and we want to provide the public with the necessary tools and information to make the process smoother and more streamlined.”

The event is open to the public and will take place on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, from 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Rosa Parks Transportation Center, multi-purpose conference room 116, at 101 Jefferson Street.For more information about the Lunch and Learn event, please contact Jackie Vargas-Beitia at 337-291-8547.
