Rep. Clay Higgins, who represents Louisiana’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing issues ranging from federal bureaucracy to international religious advocacy and congressional investigations.

On September 22, 2025, Higgins criticized federal agencies for inefficiency in flood mitigation efforts. He stated, “The Army Corps’ bureaucracy is a problem. We’re working to empower state and local efforts to mitigate flooding… at a lower cost and faster rate of delivery.”

The following day, September 23, 2025, Higgins shared his participation in a prayer event with advocates supporting persecuted Christians abroad. He wrote, “Honored to pray with advocates supporting Christians against persecution in Syria…”

On September 24, 2025, Higgins addressed internal congressional debates concerning the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein-related matters. He commented directly on another lawmaker’s actions: “Thomas Massie is 100% wrong, on so many levels, with his political maneuver Epstein petition. The Oversight Committee is conducting an official investigation into Epstein related matters and we’re following all established rules of criminal justice procedure. It’s a shame, what”

Higgins has served as the representative for Louisiana’s 3rd District since 2017 after succeeding Charles Boustany and previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in New Orleans in 1961 and currently residing in Lafayette at age 61, Higgins has been involved in both state and national legislative work.
