Rep. Clay Higgins, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Louisiana’s 3rd district, published several posts on social media between September 30 and October 1, 2025, expressing his views on healthcare policy, Planned Parenthood, and American motorcycle clubs.
On September 30, Higgins criticized Democratic leadership and the federal government’s healthcare policies in a post stating: “3 Democrat liberal elitists. If you don’t think Obama runs them, you haven’t been paying attention… the entire shutdown is over Obamacare for illegals, Obamacare subsidies for the wealthy, and Obamacare premium payments DIRECTLY TO BIG INSURANCE COMPANIES.”
Later that day, Higgins commented on Planned Parenthood and abortion with the following statement: “If you ever set foot inside a Planned Parenthood facility… other than to pray and be arrested… you were complicit with the murder of babies in the womb. If you ever spoke in support of Planned Parenthood, you were speaking in support of murdering babies in the womb. If you’ve”
On October 1, Higgins referenced motorcycle clubs in America by posting: “American bikers, in MC cuts and colors, number over 200K. We’re bigger than the Marine Corps.”
Higgins has represented Louisiana’s 3rd District in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Charles Boustany. He previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives and was born in New Orleans in 1961. He currently resides in Lafayette.
