Rep. Clay Higgins, who represents Louisiana’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on his social media account between August 22 and August 24, 2025, addressing support from political allies, his stance against certain policies, and comments on Gaza.
On August 22, Higgins posted: “The Lady Republicans have always been in my corner.”
Two days later, he commented on media coverage regarding his opposition to a policy affecting infants. On August 24, he wrote: “Liberal media has been lighting itself on fire over my opposition to poisoning American babies. Quite the hysterical reporting, it’s been amusing to observe hundreds of Democrat talking heads trip over each other trying to be more critical of me than the other fake news outlet”
Later that same day, Higgins made remarks about Gaza’s geography and international aid received by its population: “GAZA is only 25 miles long and 5 miles wide. The weather is perfect and it’s on the Mediterranean Sea where every year, 2 million tons of fish are harvested. 1.8 million people live in GAZA and they’ve received $20 billion… that’s twenty thousand million dollars… in charity”
Clay Higgins has served as a member of the U.S. Congress since 2017 after replacing Charles Boustany. He previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives and was born in New Orleans in 1961. Higgins currently resides in Lafayette.
