Census Bureau: More women than men in Lafayette Parish in 2019

Of the 241,973 people living in Lafayette Parish in 2019, 51.2 percent (123,981) were women and 48.8 percent (117,992) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Lafayette Reporter.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 78,255-to-75,483. In the 65 and over age range, there were 17,439 females and 13,293 males.
