Of the 616 people living in Mermentau in 2020, 47.9 percent (295) were women and 52.1 percent (321) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Lafayette Reporter.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 46. In the 65 and over age range, there were 36 females and 94 males.
