Census Bureau: 73.9% of people in Acadia Parish were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 58,200 citizens living in Acadia Parish in 2021, 73.9% were old enough to vote, equating to 43,000 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 20,665 were male, constituting 48.1%, and 22,335 were female, making up 51.9%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Acadia Parish during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 76.4%.
