Lafayette Consolidated Government's Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department has announced a temporary closure of the intersection at Arthur Street and N. University Avenue. This closure is part of the ongoing University Avenue Revitalization project.
The intersection will be inaccessible from Monday, December 2, 2024, through Friday, December 13, 2024. The closure is necessary to allow contractors to install new drainage infrastructure.
Detour routes have been arranged and will be clearly marked to guide traffic along N. University Avenue, Edison Street, and Irene Street. Access for local residents and businesses within the closure area will remain available.
The department appreciates public patience and cooperation during this phase of construction.
