Lafayette, LA – The Lafayette Consolidated Government is urging businesses to participate in an economic impact survey following a historic cold weather event that began on January 20, 2025. This initiative is part of efforts by the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) to evaluate the possibility of requesting federal assistance from the Small Business Administration (SBA).

The potential aid, if approved, would provide disaster loans to businesses negatively impacted by the severe weather conditions. GOHSEP has requested private sector businesses to fill out the Economic Injury Worksheet and submit it by January 24, 2025.

While completing the survey does not ensure eligibility for a disaster loan, accurate data collection is essential for facilitating possible assistance.

The survey can be downloaded as "Economic Injury Worksheet - 051410 (R) English" and should be returned to Allison Hadley, GOHSEP Director of Recovery at Allison.Saari@la.gov or Jacqueline (Jackie) Gazzea, GOHSEP IA Branch Manager at Jaqueline.Gazzea@la.gov. Questions regarding the process can also be directed to these contacts or info@labeoc.org.
