Lafayette, LA – The process to select a new police chief for Lafayette has moved forward with the announcement of candidates advancing to panel interviews. This follows the approval of exam scores by the Lafayette Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board and the naming of interview panelists.
Mayor-President Monique B. Boulet announced that four candidates have been selected to continue in the process. These individuals are Sgt. Dorian Brabham from the Lafayette Police Department, Tom Burnside who is a Special Agent at the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information in Washington, DC, Cpt. LeJon Robert from the New Orleans Police Department, and Cpt. Paul Trouard also from the Lafayette Police Department.
The candidates will undergo both in-person panel and administrative interviews over the next few weeks. A final decision on who will be appointed as Lafayette's new police chief is expected by March 2025.
