Senator John Kennedy has raised questions about the New York City public school system's publication of an allegedly antisemitic newsletter. The newsletter, known as the Office of Student Pathways Newsletter, reportedly included a controversial link titled "Guidelines for teaching about genocide." Clicking this link directed users to a site called "Stop Gaza Genocide Toolkit." Kennedy described the contents as "the biggest bunch of antisemitic rot you can imagine."

"The administration of the New York public schools, the largest in the country, is sending this out to its teachers and its students and to the world," Kennedy stated during a speech in the U.S. Senate.

He further highlighted that this was not an isolated incident. A similar version of the toolkit, according to Kennedy, had been included in a previous newsletter in October-November 2024. This document reportedly encouraged participation in a "rage week" with a "day of action" planned for October 5, coinciding with the anniversary of a Hamas attack on Israel.

"But then the article goes on to say that it has been discovered that a similar version of the toolkit—this oversight—was published in the newsletter in the prior month," Kennedy said. "It called on them to participate in ‘rage week’ and ‘resist genocide’ by mobilizing on Saturday, Oct. 5, for a ‘day of action’ ahead of the anniversary of Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023."
