Senator John Kennedy has announced a new allocation of funds aimed at assisting the recovery efforts in south Louisiana following the damages caused by Hurricanes Laura and Ida. The total of $14,287,394, in the form of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants, will be geared towards essential infrastructure improvements in the region.

Commenting on the aid, Senator Kennedy stated, "South Louisiana communities are built tough, and have worked hard to rebuild key infrastructure in the wake of devastating storms. This $14.3 million will help Louisianians cover the costs of restoring their schools, churches and medical buildings."

The distribution of the FEMA aid includes several targeted projects:

- Terrebonne Parish School Board will receive $11,270,163 to replace school contents damaged by Hurricane Ida.

- The Society of the Roman Catholic Church of the Diocese of Lake Charles will be granted $1,778,027 to repair the Christ the King Parish hall, office building, and church, all affected by Hurricane Laura.

- Ochsner Clinic Foundation is set to receive $1,239,204 for repairs to the Kenner Ochsner Medical Office Building due to Hurricane Ida damages.

These grants are expected to significantly aid the recovery and rebuilding processes in the affected communities.
