WASHINGTON - Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) congratulated Louisiana Governor-elect Jeff Landry and expressed his excitement to work with him in a statement released today.

Kennedy praised Landry for his previous role as the state's attorney general, stating, "He served our state passionately as attorney general, and I look forward to working with him as our new governor."

The senator then emphasized the importance of improving Louisiana's future, saying, "Louisiana's future can be better than our present and our past, and it's the responsibility of both state and federal officials to make that brighter, freer, and more prosperous future a reality."

Kennedy's statement highlights the collaborative effort needed from both state and federal officials to bring about positive change in Louisiana.
