Long-time sheltered dogs looking for permanent home

Lafayette, LA – Looking for your next furry family member? Lafayette Animal Shelter and Care Center (LASCC) staff will showcase eight dogs available for adoption at Shades Sunglasses and Casual Apparel. Dogs are spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, and Shades will cover the adoption fee.

Most of the eight dogs have been housed at LASCC for more than 30 days, some, like Tamale, for six months. She arrived at the shelter malnourished, nothing more than just skin and bones. Shelter staff say Tamale has been overlooked although she’s friendly with other dogs, is well-behaved, and is loving. The other seven dogs are just as adoptable as Tamale and are available unless adopted this week.

The free adoption event is Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 11 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Shades Sunglasses and Casual Apparel. The address is 4243 Ambassador Caffery Parkway. The public is also provided with a free Shades T-shirt if they donate any two of the following items: fleece blankets, Nylabones (dogs), rope toys, pack of tennis balls, pet treats, collars and harnesses, leashes, puppy and milk replacement, dog bowls, training pads, wire crates, plastic kennels, or miracle nipples.
