Kennedy Announces $14 Million in Disaster Aid for Louisiana Parishes

Senator John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, has announced $14,006,597 in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants for disaster aid in Louisiana. The funds will provide much-needed support to several communities that are still working towards recovery after being impacted by hurricanes and severe storms.

The Beauregard Electrical Cooperative will receive $4,237,757 for permanent work repairs resulting from Hurricane Laura. The Natchitoches Parish Port Commission will be granted $4,173,482 for dock repairs following severe storms and flooding. Lafourche Parish will receive $3,310,409 for permanent repairs to the Larose Park, which was damaged by Hurricane Ida. Additionally, Ascension Parish will be given $2,284,949 for waterway debris removal operations caused by Hurricane Ida.

These grants will provide crucial financial assistance to these parishes, allowing them to carry out vital repairs and recovery efforts. The funds will play a significant role in helping these communities rebuild and enhance their resilience in the face of future disasters.
