Kennedy Announces $15 Million in Hurricane Laura Aid for Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative

MADISONVILLE, La. – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $15,010,476 in a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant for Louisiana disaster aid.

Kennedy emphasized the importance of this aid, stating, “Hurricane Laura hit southwest Louisiana and damaged Louisianians’ electrical network. This $15 million will help the Jefferson Davis Electric system get repairs so that power can run smoothly in our communities.”

The FEMA aid, totaling $15,010,476, is designated for Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative, Inc. to facilitate system-wide electrical infrastructure repairs due to the impact of Hurricane Laura.
