W. Congress Street Bridge closed for repairs beginning June 12

Lafayette, LA—The Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) has announced the closure of the W. Congress Street Bridge for repairs starting June 12, 2024. The bridge is located in the 4800 block of W. Congress Street, approximately 0.2 miles west of Rue du Belier.

The closure will affect all traffic and is expected to last approximately 2.5 months. During this period, detour routes will be clearly posted to guide drivers around the construction zone. Local access will be maintained to ensure minimal impact on residents and businesses in the immediate area.

Detour routes are as follows:

- Eastbound traffic on W. Congress Street will detour onto Le Violin Road to Dulles Drive and then to Rue Du Belier.

- Westbound traffic on W. Congress Street will detour onto Rue Du Belier to Dulles Drive and then to Le Violin Road.
