Lafayette committee hosts annual disability awareness awards ceremony

The Lafayette Mayor-President’s Disability Awareness Committee will host its annual Awards Ceremony on October 8, 2024. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Robicheaux Recreation Center, located at 1919 Eraste Landry Road in Lafayette, LA.

This public event aims to honor individuals, organizations, and businesses that have made significant contributions to promoting disability awareness and inclusion within the community.

The ceremony will feature the presentation of several awards:

- Non-Profit of the Year

- Business of the Year

- Lynette Fontenot Community Achievement Award

- Vickie Nettles Advocacy Award

- Public Servant of the Year

- Youth of the Year

These awards recognize those with an outstanding commitment to advancing the rights and inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Community members are encouraged to attend and celebrate these exceptional honorees.
