The Oath of Office Ceremony for the inauguration of the incoming Lafayette Mayor-President, the Lafayette City Council, and Lafayette Parish Council has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the Cajundome Convention Center, located at 444 Cajundome Boulevard in Lafayette.

In order to accommodate a larger audience, the venue has been chosen to provide greater seating capacity. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this momentous event. For those unable to attend in person, the entire ceremony will be broadcasted live via Acadiana Open Channel (AOC) on Cox Channel 15 and on LUS Fiber Channel 3. Additionally, a live stream feed will be available on aocinc.org/watch, accessible through a YouTube link.

Following the inauguration ceremony, the newly sworn-in elected officials will hold their first Regular City Council and Parish Council Meetings on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. The meetings will take place in the Council Auditorium at Lafayette City-Parish Hall, located at 705 West University Avenue in Lafayette. The schedule for the meetings is as follows:

- Lafayette Parish Council meeting at 4:30 p.m.

- Lafayette City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m.

It is important to note that if a Joint meeting is called, notice will be posted in advance. Once again, the public is welcome and encouraged to attend the ceremony at the Cajundome Convention Center on January 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.
