Lafayette Transit System has announced its holiday schedule for the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays. The schedule includes changes to bus and paratransit services, as well as information regarding trash and compost collection.

On Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, the day service will run until 3:00 p.m. The Night Owl service will then operate from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and the Paratransit service will run until 8:30 p.m.

On Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, both buses and paratransit services will not be operational.

For New Year's Eve, Sunday, December 31, the regular hours for bus and paratransit riders will be from 5:45 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

On New Year's Day, Monday, January 1, buses and paratransit services will not be available.

In regards to trash and compost collection, AWS will not run on Christmas or New Year's Day. As a result, the collection dates will be pushed back by a day for all residents. However, crews will pick up excess holiday waste as long as it is bagged and placed neatly by the cart. Additionally, residents can place their Christmas trees at the curb on their regular collection date for pick up.

The Compost Facility will have modified hours due to the holidays. It will close at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 22, and reopen on Tuesday, December 26, for the Christmas holiday. The facility will then close again on Saturday, December 30, through Monday, January 1, and reopen on Tuesday, January 2, for the New Year's holiday.
