Lafayette Consolidated Government's Public Works Department is organizing a Lunch and Learn event aimed at streamlining the permit approval process in Lafayette Parish. The event, titled "How to Get Your Permit Approved Faster: Meeting Development & Stormwater Management Requirements in Lafayette Parish," will provide valuable information to the community regarding permit requirements and the steps involved in obtaining one.
The Lunch and Learn event will bring together developers, engineers, and landscape architects who will guide attendees through the permit approval process. Topics to be covered include drainage and development regulations specific to Lafayette Parish, parking lot landscaping, stormwater documents, solid waste requirements, Land disturbance permits, and FEMA enforcement updates. The event will also provide informational resources to aid developers in navigating the permit process.
"We are committed to making the permit approval process as efficient and transparent as possible for our community," said Public Works Regulatory Compliance-Supervisor Jackie Vargas-Beitia. "We understand that obtaining a permit can be a daunting task, and we want to provide the public with the necessary tools and information to make the process smoother and more streamlined."
The Lunch and Learn event will be open to the public and will take place on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The venue for the event will be the Rosa Parks Transportation Center, specifically the multi-purpose conference room 116, located at 101 Jefferson Street.
