Senator John Kennedy has announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will provide $3,732,973 in grants for disaster aid in Louisiana. The funding aims to support the purchase of emergency generators across three parishes.

"Louisianians depend on back-up power when harsh weather hits. This $3.7 million will fund the purchase of emergency generators for Tangipahoa, Jefferson and Tensas Parishes," said Kennedy.

The allocation includes $1,285,560 for 15 portable generators in Jefferson Parish, and $1,250,940 for eight permanent and two portable generators in Tangipahoa Parish. Additionally, Tensas Parish will receive $1,000,000 for 12 permanent industrial generators along with necessary infrastructure like switches and security fencing.

Management costs are also covered by the FEMA grants: Jefferson Parish will receive $71,420 for managing the purchase of its generators; Tangipahoa Parish is allocated $69,497; and Tensas Parish is set to get $55,556 for similar expenses.
