56 percent of applicants to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, 85 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 57 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Lafayette enrolled 17,123 students in fall 2018, including 15,073 in undergraduate and 2,050 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

94 percent of undergraduates are residents of Louisiana, and 4 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (66 percent) and Black or African American (20 percent).

The school admitted 56 percent of the 9,468 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 52 percent enrolled.
