Cost of college was unchanged for all students at South Louisiana Community College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at South Louisiana Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Louisiana residents paid $4,205 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 85.7 percent more than residents this year, or $7,810. Their price tag was unchanged from $7,810 in 2017-18.

About 97 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Louisiana residents. About 2 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 85 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 847 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.6 million and 481 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.5 million.

Including all undergraduates (6,282), 6,027 students used grants or scholarships totaling $21.2 million, and 2,593 students took out $14.7 million in federal student loans.
