76.1% of Lafayette Parish residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 241,173 citizens living in Lafayette Parish in 2021, 76.1% were old enough to vote, equating to 183,637 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 88,673 were male, constituting 48.3%, and 94,964 were female, making up 51.7%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Lafayette Parish during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 76.4%.
