Senator John Kennedy, along with Senator Tom Cotton and a group of colleagues, have urged U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona to address the threats faced by Jewish students on college campuses by antisemitic mobs. In a letter, the senators emphasized the need for immediate action to protect Jewish students from violence and discrimination.

"Anti-Israel protestors, spurred on by prominent leftists, have gathered on college campuses in recent days, chanting anti-Semitic slogans and directly threatening Jewish students," the senators wrote. The situation has escalated to the point where a Jewish rabbi at Columbia University advised Jewish students to leave campus for their own safety.

The senators called for the restoration of order on college campuses and highlighted the importance of protecting Jewish students. They stressed that federal laws prohibit violence or attempted violence against individuals based on their Jewish heritage, and failure to protect Jewish students from discrimination could result in schools losing access to federal funds.

The letter was signed by several other senators, including Lindsey Graham, Marsha Blackburn, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and many more. The senators concluded by urging prompt action from the Justice and Education Departments to ensure the safety of Jewish students on college campuses.

The full letter with the senators' demands and concerns can be accessed through the provided link.
