Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) has promptly responded to the recent severe storms that ravaged Tallahassee, Florida, by extending its support to the affected communities. This action is part of a nationwide response coordinated through mutual aid partnerships within the American Public Power Association (APPA). In response to this crisis, LUS has dispatched a team of dedicated professionals to assist with recovery efforts in Tallahassee.

Understanding the immediate need for help, LUS has mobilized 15 seasoned employees along with 11 vehicles and other vital equipment for up to two weeks. This deployment aims to provide critical support to the city of Tallahassee. These proficient individuals are equipped with the necessary expertise and resources to assist in restoring essential services and infrastructure in the storm's aftermath.

"We stand with the communities facing the aftermath of these devastating storms," stated Jeff Stewart, Director of LUS. "LUS is committed to offering our support to help Tallahassee recover and rebuild, just as they have helped us in the past.”

The collaboration between LUS and Tallahassee highlights the spirit of cooperation and mutual assistance that characterizes the public power community. Through APPA's mutual aid network, utilities across the nation unite during crises to provide essential assistance and resources to communities in need.
