The Lafayette Consolidated Government has announced its Household Hazardous Waste Day, scheduled for May 18, 2024, at the Northgate Mall. This event provides residents with an opportunity to dispose of household chemicals and electronics that are not accepted in curbside trash or recycling carts.
For a comprehensive list of accepted and unaccepted items, as well as locations for safe disposal of unaccepted items, residents can visit https://lafayettela.gov/hhwd.
The Household Hazardous Waste Day will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with entry from Castille Avenue. The event is free of charge but is only open to residents who live in the city of Lafayette and unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish. Attendees will be required to provide proof of residency.
