In the wake of severe thunderstorms that swept through Louisiana, causing widespread damage throughout Acadiana, Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) is working in tandem with Acadiana's Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (Acadiana VOAD) to assess the extent of the destruction.

The storms resulted in tree and power line damage, flash flooding, and a host of other issues across Acadiana. LCG has issued a plea to residents not to visit these damaged areas as additional traffic could potentially cause delays for utility crews, first responders, and other emergency efforts.

For those impacted by the severe weather and in need of assistance, they are urged to call 232-HELP/211 or fill out this form: https://www.tfaforms.com/4846998.
