A small aircraft crashed shortly after departure in Lafayette, LA, resulting in one confirmed fatality. The aircraft took off at 11:35 a.m., and emergency services received a distress call at 11:37 a.m., prompting the Lafayette Fire Department to respond promptly to the scene at Oakbourne Country Club.
Representatives from multiple agencies, including the Lafayette Fire Department, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, Acadian Ambulance, Lafayette Airport Commission, and Lafayette Consolidated Government are currently on site.
