Lafayette, LA – The Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department has announced the upcoming closure of the southbound exterior lane and shoulder in the 1100 block of Johnston Street. This section is located just north of University Avenue. The closure will start on Monday, December 2, 2024, and continue until Friday, December 20, 2024.
This temporary closure is necessary to carry out work related to the Downtown Drainage Inlet Replacement Project. Southern Constructors will be handling improvements to the drainage catch basin in this area.
Motorists traveling through this zone are advised to exercise caution, anticipate delays, and consider using alternate routes if feasible.
