Kennedy announces FEMA aid for hurricane recovery in Louisiana

Senator John Kennedy has announced the allocation of over $13 million in FEMA grants aimed at aiding disaster recovery efforts in Louisiana. This funding will address damage caused by Hurricanes Ida and Delta.

"Hurricanes Ida and Delta wreaked havoc on Louisianians’ communities. This $13 million will help cover costs for building repairs in Westwego, Oakdale, and St. James Parish," said Kennedy.

The funds are designated as follows: The Westwego Housing Authority will receive $7,984,298 for permanent repairs following Hurricane Ida. The Housing Authority for the city of Oakdale is set to receive $3,296,730 to cover damages from Hurricane Delta. Lastly, $1,749,233 is allocated to repair the St. James Parish Fire Station Building after damages sustained during Hurricane Ida.
