W. Congress Street Bridge closed for repairs starting June 13

Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) announced the upcoming closure of the W. Congress Street Bridge, located in the 4800 block of W. Congress Street approximately 0.2 miles west of Rue du Belier, for repairs. The bridge will be closed to all traffic starting June 13, 2024.

This necessary closure is expected to last approximately 2.5 months. During this time, detour routes will be clearly posted to guide drivers around the construction zone. Local access will be maintained to ensure residents and businesses in the immediate area are minimally impacted.

Detour Routes:

Eastbound traffic on W. Congress Street will detour onto Le Violin Road to Dulles Drive and then to Rue Du Belier.

Westbound traffic on W. Congress Street will detour onto Rue Du Belier to Dulles and then to Le Violin Road.
