Lafayette, LA – Mayor-President Monique B. Boulet has announced the appointment of four individuals to three commissions that oversee Lafayette's cultural and community assets: the Lafayette Preservation Commission, Cajundome Commission, and Heymann Performing Arts Convention Center Commission.
Architect Kirby Pecot has been appointed to the Lafayette Preservation Commission. Pecot brings a wealth of experience in architectural design and historical preservation, ensuring that Lafayette’s rich cultural heritage is thoughtfully maintained and celebrated. Pecot will serve a four-year, unexpired term established on September 1, 2022.
Jeff Stewart, Director of Lafayette Utilities System (LUS), has been appointed to the Cajundome Commission. With his extensive background in public utilities and community service, Stewart is positioned to enhance the operational excellence and community engagement of one of Lafayette’s premier entertainment venues. Stewart will serve a four-year, unexpired term established on August 1, 2022.
Respected dermatologist and previous ACA Board Member Dr. Ronnie Daigle has been appointed to the Heymann Performing Arts Convention Center Commission. Dr. Daigle’s dedication to public health and community service will contribute to the ongoing success and vibrancy of one of Lafayette’s renowned performing arts and convention centers. Dr. Daigle will serve a four-year, unexpired term established on September 1, 2022.
Leigha Porter is Mayor-President Boulet’s second appointment to the Heymann Performing Arts Convention Center Commission. Porter has enriched Lafayette’s cultural landscape as Co-Creator, Director, and Producer of the acclaimed Creole Nutcracker and Owner/Operator of FE Performing Arts Conservatory. Porter will serve the remainder of a previously vacated term expiring on November 30, 2024, continuing with her four-year term expiring on November 30, 2028.

The Lafayette Preservation Commission, Cajundome Commission, and Heymann Performing Arts Convention Center Commission play critical roles in maintaining and enhancing Lafayette's cultural and community resources. Mayor-President Boulet's appointments are set to further the mission of these commissions by ensuring they continue to serve the residents of Lafayette effectively.
