Lafayette, LA – The Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department has announced a temporary closure at the intersection of Pinhook Road and Bendel Road. This closure will start on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, and continue until Monday, January 6, 2025. The timing aligns with school holidays.
The construction project aims to replace a failed catch basin and install improved connections to the main drainage trunk line. These upgrades are necessary to address issues caused by the deteriorating structure, such as failing concrete road panels and voids beneath the roadway surface.
During this period, two-way traffic will remain operational with left-turn maneuvers still permitted. However, Jomela Drive will be limited to right-in/right-out turning movements only. Motorists are urged to exercise caution due to potential changes in traffic patterns and the presence of crews in the area. Delays are expected; drivers should plan alternate routes if possible.
