The Lafayette Consolidated Government has announced a rescheduling of its Household Hazardous Waste Day. The event, initially planned for an earlier date, will now take place on June 1, 2024, at the Northgate Mall.

This initiative provides residents with an opportunity to dispose of household chemicals and electronics that are not accepted in curbside trash or recycling carts. For a comprehensive list of accepted and unaccepted items, as well as locations to safely dispose of unaccepted items, residents can visit https://lafayettela.gov/hhwd.

The Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled for June 1, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The location is the Northgate Mall, with entry from Castille Avenue. This service is free of charge but only open to residents who live in the city of Lafayette and unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish. Proof of residency will be required.
