Lafayette, LA – The Acadiana Park Campground has reopened as of January 2, 2025, following a closure that began on May 29, 2024. The closure was due to staffing shortages. Lafayette Consolidated Government's Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Culture (PARC) Department announced the reopening.

During the closure period, the PARC Department undertook significant repairs and maintenance to ensure safety and cleanliness standards were met. These improvements included repairing security lighting and plumbing leaks, cleaning and repainting showers and restrooms, mulching playgrounds, pressure washing picnic tables, pavilions, restrooms, office buildings, cleaning site pads, and inspecting BBQ pits and fire pits for functionality.

The campground offers several amenities for visitors. There are 75 camping spots available with access to restrooms with showers. Visitors can enjoy nature trails in Acadiana Park along with two playground units for children. Other features include picnic tables, covered pavilions, BBQ pits, fire rings, electrical and water hookups as well as a black water dump station near the entrance.

Reservations are available at a standard fee of $28 per night for both RV and tent camping by calling 337-291-8388.

PARC Director Tim Sensley stated: “We are happy to reopen the Acadiana Park Campground in this new year and welcome campers back to enjoy this incredible outdoor space.” He added that their team worked diligently to prepare the site and they remain committed to maintaining its quality through an updated maintenance plan.
