Jessie Livingston Taylor Center announces educational programs for 2025

Lafayette, LA – The Community Development & Planning Department of Lafayette Consolidated Government has announced the 2025 education schedule for the Jessie Livingston Taylor Center for Housing and Community Services. This center, located at 111 Shirley Picard Drive, plays a crucial role in providing housing programs and educational opportunities to Lafayette residents.

The Taylor Center will host monthly classes throughout 2025, focusing on several key areas:

- Home Ownership Training: Aimed at helping prospective homeowners navigate the home-buying process.

- Financial Literacy Workshops: Addressing budgeting, credit management, and strategies for financial stability.

- Home Maintenance Workshops: Offering practical advice on maintaining and improving home safety and efficiency.

Additionally, the Jessie Livingston Taylor Center provides various services through its Human Services Division. These include:

- Housing Demolition Program

- Housing Rehabilitation Program

- Sewer System Program

- First-Time Home Buyer Program

- Ramp Program

- Housing Counseling Services

"The Taylor Center strives to strengthen our community by providing the tools and resources necessary for safe, stable, and affordable housing," said Human Services Manager Belle Leblanc. "We’re proud to offer these programs and workshops to help residents achieve their housing goals and build a brighter future."
