Lafayette, LA – The Lafayette Consolidated Government's Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department has announced a temporary closure of the intersection at the 100 block of Fatima Road and the 1200 block of Bajat Road. This closure will take place from Monday, January 13, through Thursday, January 16, 2025.
The closure is part of ongoing infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing stormwater management in the area. According to officials, construction will involve widening the intersection by replacing culverts and installing drainage catch basins.
During this period, detour routes will be available to ensure local access is maintained. The designated detour routes include Mardi Gras Road, Joli Road, Ombrage Road, Braquest Road, and Cormier Road.
Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly and exercise caution while navigating these detour routes.
