Lafayette, LA – The Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department has announced a temporary closure of the 700 block of W. Broussard Road. This closure is part of the ongoing Hummingbird Lane Drainage Improvements project. It is necessary for contractors to install subsurface cross drains across the road.

The closure will begin on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, and is expected to last until Friday, January 24, 2025. During this period, detour routes will be available for motorists. Local access will be maintained for residents in the area.

The designated detour routes include Ridge Road, Rue Du Belier, and Duhon Road. Residents of Hummingbird Lane will be able to reach their homes via Duhon Road during the closure.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving near the construction zone. They should also plan for possible delays and utilize the provided detour routes.
