Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) has announced adjustments to its services in observance of the upcoming holidays. The changes will affect transit services, garbage collection, the Dean Domingues Compost Facility, and City-Parish offices.
For transit services on Christmas Eve, December 24, regular operations will end at 2:30 p.m., with night owl service running from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. All transit services will be halted on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Garbage collection will not occur on December 25 or January 1. For these weeks, Wednesday's collections shift to Thursday, Thursday's to Friday, and Friday's to Saturday. Residents are permitted to place additional bags next to their carts for pickup after the holidays.
The Dean Domingues Compost Facility at 400 Dugas Road will close early at 11:00 a.m. on December 24 and remain closed on both December 25 and January 1.
City-Parish offices will shut down at noon on Christmas Eve and stay closed through Christmas Day. They will also be closed for New Year's Day.
