Lafayette announces service changes for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) has announced adjustments to its services in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 20, 2025.

Transit services will not be operational on the holiday. Regular transit operations are set to resume on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

For garbage and recycling collections, there will be no pickups on Monday. The schedule for the entire week will shift by one day: Monday's collections will occur on Tuesday, Tuesday's on Wednesday, Wednesday's on Thursday, Thursday's on Friday, and Friday's collections will be moved to Saturday.

The Dean Domingues Compost Facility at 400 Dugas Road will also remain closed for the day.

All City-Parish offices are scheduled to close in observance of the holiday as well.
