Lafayette, LA – The Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) and Acadiana Waste Services (AWS) have announced that garbage and recycling collections will continue as scheduled during the week of January 20, 2025. This decision marks a change from earlier updates which anticipated disruptions due to winter weather conditions.

Collections will proceed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 20, and maintain their regular schedule throughout the week. The revision aims to reduce disruption while considering potential impacts of extreme winter conditions on local roads.

In case adjustments are necessary for collection operations, LCG and AWS will provide updates through social media and local media broadcasts.
